Just a note to state that my friend's list is currently pretty hefty (to me, anyway) and I have lots to read. I'm always down with meeting cool new people on LiveJournal, but I'm rather discerning when it comes to who I add these days. LJ is simply taking up a lot of my time as it is, and I can't afford to add too many more people to my list for my sanity's sake. If you want to add me to your friends list, go for it. You don't have to ask. I do check my user info on occasion and will notice the new adds. I'll check you out in return, but if I don't add back please don't take it personally.
Friends only from here on (August 2004). Not interested in adding anyone new, sorry.
On an entirely different note, here's some musics I've been listening to...

Please note that set lists are 10 minutes tonight rather than 15, which I posted yesterday. They are usually 15 minutes, but because of a higher expected turnout tonight, they've been cut back to 10 to accomodate everyone.
Donations are not required, but encouraged. Kitchen is open until 10. The drinks are good, and pretty cheap too! Come out and have fun while supporting those who are suffering and displaced from their homes in the Gulf Coast.

Donate Now to the American Red Cross at Coinstar machines Your Spare Change Makes a Difference!
Just by bringing your spare change to the grocery store, you can help the American Red Cross bring relief to disaster victims in your area and across the country.
Approximately 130 million Americans live within 2 miles of a Coinstar machine. If even half of those American donated just $1 in spare change to the Red Cross, it would raise more than $65 million to support American Red Cross lifesaving services in communities nationwide!
Find the Coinstar machine nearest you. (Please note that some Coinstar machines are not yet equipped with the donation option. To confirm that your grocery store can accept donations to the American Red Cross, please call 1-800-928-CASH.)
How Can $1 Make a Difference?
66 pennies: Allows us to give a child any one of 11 "after the disaster" coloring books and a box of crayons. $1: Buys one family expert safety information. $3: Buys a comfort kit with toiletries for one disaster victim. $6: Buys one blanket for a disaster shelter. Quarters: Add up to dollars and $ 30 buys a pair of shoes for a disaster victim. So out in New Orleans they are suffering worse than we could ever imagine. If you want to hear a first hand account go here. I think that explains it better than I ever could.
In order to not sit on our asses and do nothing, Bree ( lilmeangirl) and I have decided to use our main talent - making mix CDs - to help urge people to donate money to the American Red Cross and Humane Society (animals are suffering too).
Here’s the deal. For a donation of $10 you get a custom mix CD on the theme of your choice. For example… Songs about Boston. Or songs with names in them. Or a CD of a specific genre or subgenre of music. We will send you a personalized CD with cover art. We will try our best to accommodate musical taste, so specify what you're into as well. We have pretty wide tastes between everyone involved. The CD will be at least 12 songs long, no matter what the theme.
If interested, just make a minimum $10 donation to either the American Red Cross (http://www.redcross.org) or the Humane Society (http://www.hsus.org) and forward us whatever confirmation you receive from them. Include your CD theme and mailing address. Or, you can PayPal lunarbull@yahoo.com or moviestar@gmail.com your donation, as well as your theme and mailing address. We will be making our donations once we have a few collected, and we will send you our confirmation emails. Get off your ass and do something for a good cause.
We are also in the (very) preliminary stages of seeing what we can do for a fundraiser. Friends in the Boston dance music scene, we're looking at you here. We'd like to do something like have a special benefit night at a pre-existing club night. Charge more at the door, see if the venue will allow all door proceeds to go to the cause (Red Cross & Humane Society) and they can keep the bar revenue. We will obviously promote the shit out of this, which we are very capable of and good at. Perhaps get local rags like the Boston Phoenix involved. If you have any ideas or are in any position to help with such a project, please contact one or both of us. Promotors, DJ's who will play for free, people who have "in's" with local venues, we need your help. Again, lunarbull@yahoo.com and moviestar@gmail.com.
Please spread the word. This tragedy is not only slowly killing the people of the Gulf Coast, but it is going to affect all of us Americans in the long run. Something this massive does not go without serious economical repercussions for the entire country. Do what you can to help.
Love, Matt & Bree

This is the most amazing thing I've ever seen. Anyone know what it's from?

In other news, I forgot to mention that I walked past Ruthie from the Real World Hawaii in the Albuquerque airport. She was with two hot girls. One had an afro. And no, I did not ask her to get a drink with me, to sign my flask, or any other booze-related questions. In fact, I didn't say anything to her. I can only imagine how annoying and awkward it must be for people from reality TV talking to them because they're famous. It's not like they're actors playing roles, you watched their actual life for a few months. Nevertheless, it is surreal to see a technical stranger in real life for the first time after seeing them naked (with blurred bits) on TV on several occasions. She's really short too.
Okay, time for my carless self to go walk home from work now. >_
